NEW COURSE – Ballroom Dance

A new session of level 1 is re-starting and we’ve also added a level 2 course to our schedule. If you missed out on last month, you can still join in November!

Our next courses start on the following date:
Ballroom Level 1B (for absolute beginners) begins Sunday 2nd November at 7pm. Dance styles covered: Cha Cha, Samba & West Coast Swing

Ballroom Level 2A (must have taken Level 1A in October or equivalent) begins Sunday 2nd November at 8pm. Continuation of dance styles covered in Level 1A: Waltz, Rumba, Foxtrot, Swing.

Cost: AED 280 per course or AED 500 for 2 courses during the same month

PERFORMANCE COURSES – Starting in September

Are you itching to perform, be challenged, and take your dancing to the next level? Well now you can! Starting SEPTEMBER, we’ll be running special 12-week performance courses in ballet, contemporary, hip hop, belly dance, salsa and tango.

Registration is required and students must sign up for the full 12 weeks. Students will have the opportunity to perform in our studio showcase on Friday 19th December.

Ballet
Improver/Intermediate: Saturday 4-5pm, start date 27th September. Cost: AED 695

Contemporary
Beginner/Improver: Saturday 5-6pm, start date 27th September. Cost: AED 695

Hip Hop
Beginner/Improver: Saturday 630-730pm, start date 27th September. Cost: AED 695

Belly Dance
Beginner/Improver: Saturday 830-10pm, start date 27th September. Cost: AED 995

Salsa
Improver/Intermediate: Saturday 7-830pm, start date 27th September. Cost: AED 995
Advanced: Wednesday 9-1030pm, start date 24th September. Cost: AED 995

Tango
Improver/Intermediate: Monday 9-1030pm, start date 22nd September. Cost: AED 995

SALSA & BACHATA COURSES – September Session

You’ll be amazed at how much progress you can make in our 4-week courses! Our monthly salsa and bachata courses re-start in September, no experience or partner required.

Salsa Level 1 (for absolute beginners) begins Tuesday, 2nd September at 8pm and Saturday, 6th September at 5pm. Cost: AED 225 for once a week / AED 350 for twice a week

Salsa Level 2.1 begins Tuesday, 2nd September at 8pm and Saturday, 6th September at 5pm. Cost: AED 225 for once a week / AED 400 for twice a week

Salsa Level 2.2 begins Tuesday, 2nd September at 9pm and Saturday, 6th September at 6pm. Cost: AED 225 for once a week / AED 400 for twice a week

Bachata Level 1 (for absolute beginners) begins on Sunday, 7th September at 9pm. Cost: 225 AED.

KIDS MUSICAL THEATRE SUMMER CAMP – Singing & Acting for Kids

The popular and creative drama and musical theatre camps will be back at James & Alex Dance Studios starting from the week commencing Sunday 29th June and running all throughout July. All camps are 5 days long and AED 700.

The weekly theme will change so children and teens can take part in all the weeks if they like! Each week, students will decide as a big team what the theme will be on the first day of camp.

Last year students ventured to the Land of Oz, dived into the future of fairy tales, went retro with 80s disco music and solved many mysteries! What will happen this year – it is your children’s and teen’s imaginations that will create these exciting and unique all-singing, all-dancing and all-acting shows!

Spaces for these camps fill fast and children and teens must be signed up in advance to secure their place.

KIDS BALLET SUMMER CAMP – Dance & Design for Kids

Our kids ballet summer camp details have been released and registration is open! In this camp, kids will learn ballet technique and fundamentals, create a stage set and design their own ballet costumes, and prepare for a show which they will perform for their friends/family at the end of the week!

The camp is open to ages 3 to 7 and runs from Sunday to Thursday, 9am – 1pm. The fees for each camp is AED 500 with discounts available for siblings or for enrolling in more than one camp.

The dates for the camp are as follows:

July 6 – 10
July 13 – 17
July 20 – 24

August 3 – 7
Aug 10 – 14
Aug 17 – 21
Aug 24 – 28

NEW CLASS – Belly Dance with Athena

Belly dance classes are back at James & Alex Dance Studios! Get ready to shimmy and shake your hips to beautiful Arabic music with Athena Oumachiche.

SALSA XPERIENCE – The Ultimate Salsa Event

Doors open at 10pm with DJ Gabriel playing a mix of salsa, bachata and cha cha in an incredible venue at Meydan IMAX Theatre.

The performance line up will be an entertaining showcase of dance followed by an unforgettable party, an event not to be missed for anyone who loves latin music and dance.
